Saranda By Night

Saranda is located inside a bay, hence the beautiful view of the lights from the promenade. The lights on the far left are from Hotel Butrinti, the first 5* hotel in Albania. Don't count too much on the stars since the classification is made by the Ministry of Tourism of Albania. As you may know, in countries like ours, the stars show how rich is the owner of the hotel, not how good the hotel itself is. Nevertheless it has a quite good reputation regarding quality. I can't say the same regarding price unfortunately, it is one of the most expensive in Albania. We stayed on the far right, opposite Grand Hotel, at a new apartment with a private beach. We paid like 25$ per night for quite a large apartment, with all the necessities and free parking. If you need any phone numbers, let me know :) The best thing was the view from the balcony, it felt like being on an airplane.

Surrounding Walls
This is part of the surrounding wall. I don't think it was used for defensive purposes because it doesn't look thick enough to protect them in moments of war. It looks good though for thieves and unwanted faces.

I'm back after a week with my family in Saranda, south Albania. This photo was taken in Ksamil, at the 3 Islands beach. This guy was doing some sort of yoga and when finished, stood like that for a couple of minutes, enjoying the approaching storm. The small island in the background is the Pharos Peristeres. Both pieces of land on the left and right are 2 of the 3 small islands of Ksamil. Some other photos coming in the next few days.
The light is all natural btw. :)
